Our value proposition

Despite the $502 billion impact investment assets under management (AUM) globally, many early stage social enterprises struggle to raise follow-on investment capital. FHI Ventures is committed to closing this investment gap through investments in early revenue, late seed-stage companies that help position them to raise additional investment capital. As a late seed-stage and Series A investor, FHI Ventures helps companies along their growth path by driving specific value-creation efforts. FHI Ventures invests in, de-risks and scales enterprises that are dedicated to addressing a full spectrum of human development challenges in the U.S. and in emerging markets with strong profit potential.

Gender and minority lens investment strategy

FHI Ventures prioritizes investments in woman- and minority-led businesses, and we are committed to continually bringing greater diversity, equity and inclusion to our investments.
Moving forward, FHI Ventures will expand its footprint in the global impact investing space by building the FHI Ventures Fund I, an equity-based fund with a focus on empowering women and minority groups. The FHI Ventures Fund I will apply its gender and minority lens to invest in companies that are:

  • Post-revenue
  • Late seed-stage/Series A
  • Working in the U.S. and Southeast Asia
  • Focused on technology-enabled segments of the education, healthcare and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) sectors
